The world of golf is abuzz as the Skechers World Champions Cup supporting Shriners Children’s, the PGA TOUR Champions’ international team major, makes its anticipated return to the Tampa Bay area from December 4–7, 2025. Building on an electric debut (and a weather delay in 2024), the second edition of this unique teams competition will be held at the prestigious Feather Sound Country Club in Clearwater, Florida, with a star-powered lineup and headline sponsors ready to bring global rivalries to golf’s biggest team stage.

Skechers Steps Up as Title Sponsor & Official Shoe

Skechers, dubbed The Comfort Technology Company, will serve as both Title Sponsor and Official Shoe of the tournament, reflecting a commitment to innovation and athlete performance. “The Skechers World Champions Cup supporting Shriners Children’s mirrors our commitment to innovating the golf experience, from game-changing products to engaging top players in exciting new ways,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers.

Fans can expect an immersive on-site Skechers experience, anchored by a pop-up shop and a VIP hospitality suite. These interactive activations will spotlight Skechers’ latest golf shoe technology and provide premium vantage points for ticket holders, setting a new tournament standard for sponsor-fan engagement.

Shriners Children’s: Tournament Charity Partner

As Official Charity PartnerShriners Children’s will receive proceeds from the event and host the Shriners Children’s Celebrity Classic on Monday, December 1. Their involvement also extends to the sponsorship of the tournament’s volunteer program and headquarters.

“We are proud to partner with this prestigious and first-of-its-kind golf tournament,” shared Dr. Leslie D. Stewart, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Shriners Children’s. “Golf has been a strong supporter of our mission to change lives every day through innovative pediatric specialty care, world-class research and outstanding medical education.”

Event Background: Three Teams, Three Continents, Storied Rivalries

Inspired by the historic passion of the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup, the World Champions Cup brings together teams from the USAEurope, and International for three days of nine-hole matches, featuring both team and singles play. Each of the event’s 24 matches awards points for every hole won, with the ultimate goal of international supremacy—and plenty of national pride at stake.

The tournament debuted in 2023 in Bradenton, delivering dramatic, closely contested golf. Team USA squeaked out a victory by just two points, with Team International and Team Europe in hot pursuit. The star-studded field included legendary names such as Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker, David Toms, Jerry Kelly, Justin Leonard, Darren Clarke, Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, and more, all together boasting 49 combined major victories across the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions.

Venue: Feather Sound Country Club

The Feather Sound Country Club, a 7,332-yard, par-72 championship layout, is revered as one of the Tampa Bay region’s five best private clubs, centrally located between Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, alongside Carillon Park. The club previously hosted the Aramco Team Series (Ladies European Tour) and this December welcomes some of golf’s most iconic names for three days of rivalry and camaraderie.

“Bringing the Skechers World Champions Cup supporting Shriners Children’s to Feather Sound… will offer an amazing opportunity for fans to watch the greats of the game up close and personal,” said Dale Schmidt, Feather Sound Owner.

Broadcast & Media

The event will be televised nationally, with coverage beginning on ESPN, Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5, and culminating on ABC on Sunday, December 7. “The spirit and passion of a global team tournament is unmistakable… ESPN is proud to help bring the event to the next level,” added Tim Bunnell, ESPN Senior VP.
