After making waves with his first Foot Locker collaboration, which featured his hit track “Do dat Dance” and introduced him as the face of a campaign celebrating Canadian Elite Basketball, Mouraine is back again in a second Foot Locker collab featuring his newest track, Mojo.

Since his back-to-back brand partnerships, Mouraine’s profile shot up across both music and sneaker culture. This year he rocked the stage at major festivals like Winterruption YEG in Edmonton and Oneball Calgary, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with acts like Kool Keith and DijahSB, and dropped electrifying sets across Toronto and Western Canada.
That ongoing partnership is about telling real stories of movement, hustle, and homegrown ambition, with Mouraine representing authentic Canadian voices for the Foot Locker brand. Now, reuniting with Foot Locker for the ‘Mojo’ collab, Mouraine is dialing it up again—blending the bounce of hip-hop, the grind of indie hustle, and fashion.
The Story Behind the Foot Locker Collaboration

“It all started when Foot Locker featured my song ‘Do dat Dance’ in a commercial a few years back,” said Mouraine. “Just keeping that track record, Foot Locker reached out again, but this time to highlight the Canadian Elite basketball league,” said Mouraine. This ongoing partnership highlights his growing influence at the intersection of music and sneaker culture—a space where his personal style, respect for classic silhouettes, and sports background shine.
When asked about his favorite kicks right now, Mouraine said, “I like Air Max’s and Dunks. I like how simple these guys can be and can be worn in a lot of different styles and functions.” His affinity for athletic brands runs deep: “Well, I am a sports guy so automatically Nike, Adidas, and New Balance.”

Born in Khartoum, Sudan, and raised in Edmonton, Canada, Mouraine’s story reflects resilience and creativity against the odds. Arriving as a young immigrant unsure of English, he turned to hip-hop videos for both language and inspiration. “Hip Hop, Rap and R&B lyrics became my teacher, my solace, and my inspiration to use this language as a tool for self-expression and survival,” said Mouraine. BThose early influences quickly translated into action; he started recording by age 11 and has since opened for the likes of Mac Miller, J.Cole, and T-Pain.
Now, with hits featured in major ad campaigns and at Toronto Raptors games, Mouraine is recognized as a rising force in Canadian rap, blending swagger, energy, and heartfelt storytelling. His debut full-length “In Search of Gold” won props for its honest, vulnerable lyricism, and the singles “Mojo” and “Sick Of Your Love” have connected with fans across genres.

Reflecting on his creative process, Mouraine shared the story behind his new single: “What inspired me to write ‘Mojo’ was just the idea of being able to express resilience. Last couple of years in my life I felt like I had to go through a few trials and tribulations in my personal and professional life. And had a lot of people quit on me. That led to me feeling very low and a bit depressed. So once I was able to find that light again and lean into my music, it gave me all the confidence I needed to bounce back,” said Mouraine.

Looking ahead, he dreams of partnerships that go further, blending movement, music, and individuality. He said, “I think a collaboration with any of the athletic brands makes a ton of sense for who I am and the vibe my music and brand are aligned with.”
His journey, whether through music or a coveted sneaker drop, is about overcoming adversity and inspiring the underdogs.
