Gigi Hadid Brings Retro Glam to the Beach with Her First Havaianas Collection. US Palestinian Dutch supermodel Gigi Hadid has launched a new campaign and capsule collection with Brazilian footwear giant Havaianas, bringing her signature style and creative vision to the iconic flip-flop brand.
A Retro Beach Dream Come to Life
The campaign, photographed in a dreamy, vintage-inspired style, features Hadid as a modern-day pin-up, lounging in hammocks and posing on swings against an ocean-blue sky. The collection itself channels old-school Hollywood glamor, with sunset hues and beach-inspired prints across Havaianas’ classic Top and Slim Square sandal styles. Styled with high-waisted bottoms and sailor-style crop tops, the looks evoke a nostalgic 1950s summer vibe.
“As a lifelong fan of the brand, coming in as the creative director of my own Havaianas capsule collection has been so much fun – my 15-year-old self would be jumping up and down!” Hadid said in a press release. “What’s great about working with such an iconic, globally recognized product is that you get to celebrate what you love about it, while deciding what your own touch will be,” she further added.
Celebrating the Launch in New York
Hadid marked the launch with a star-studded party at Altro Paradiso in New York City. She embodied effortless summer chic, pairing flip-flops from her collection with a white tweed Marc Jacobs minidress adorned with vibrant scattered crystals. Accessories included beaded anklets, resin bangles, gem drop earrings, and a multicolored beaded handbag, while her pedicure sported a refreshing minty blue.
A Multifaceted Creative Force
Beyond her collaboration with Havaianas, Gigi Hadid has made her mark in fashion as the founder and creative director of her own cashmere label, Guest in Residence, launched in September 2022. Reflecting on her journey, she shared on Instagram, “Over the last handful of years, I didn’t want to be backed into starting my own line just because there was an offer on the table or a deal to be made,” she explained. She added, “The earliest days of Guest in Residence came about when I started to question the cashmere market, and those answers gave me a path.” She continued, “I believe that because of its sustainable qualities — natural and made to cherish and to pass down — cashmere is a luxury that should be more accessible.”
A Year of Celebrations
Earlier this year, Hadid celebrated her 30th birthday at Le Chalet in New York City, joined by her partner, Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper, her sister Bella Hadid, mother Yolanda Hadid, father Mohamed Hadid, Russian media personality Keni Silva, and US actress Anne Hathaway, among others. The milestone was widely celebrated online by celebrities, designers, family, and friends.

Hadid’s appointment as global brand ambassador signals Havaianas’ ambition to cement its place in the fashion world. “To be the Havaianas global brand ambassador is surreal, and a bit nostalgic,” Hadid said. “Growing up at the beach, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t wearing this summer staple. I’m very excited to be working with this team, and I love that Havaianas is making a comeback. I’ll make flip-flops work from Paris to New York to the beach”.
