Jordan Brand brings its pinnacle World of Flight retail experience to Philadelphia with premium product storytelling community events and a bold celebration of the city’s basketball heritage.

A New Pinnacle for Basketball Retail

World of Flight Philadelphia marks Jordan Brand’s sixth flagship globally—and the first in the U.S.—as part of a major expansion to deepen the brand’s ties to American hoops culture. The store, located at 1617 Walnut Street in a historic Beaux Arts building, sets a new bar for retail by blending product, service, and storytelling in a soulful space inspired by Michael Jordan’s legacy and Philadelphia’s enduring basketball energy.

The opening follows the successful launches of World of Flight in Milan, Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, and Mexico City. Sarah Mensah, President of Jordan Brand, said:
“As Jordan Brand enters its next era of greatness, we do so with an eye for furthering our connection to our community. World of Flight is a direct portal to our brand and represents the pinnacle of basketball culture. Opening our first World of Flight door in the United States in Philadelphia, where Michael Jordan played his last game and Jalen Hurts is redefining greatness on the football field, is emblematic of the stories, legacy and achievements we continue to create and uplift.”

Designed for the Community

More than a store, World of Flight Philadelphia serves as a destination for diehard fans, local athletes, creators, and anyone who loves the game. The location will offer:

  • The broadest selection of Jordan Brand footwear and apparel available anywhere

  • Exclusive product releases and high-heat drops

  • Immersive co-creation experiences

  • Curated retail storytelling and local artwork as a tribute to Philly’s hoop scene

  • Ongoing community events elevating area athletes, artists, and non-profits, including the Jalen Hurts Foundation and Jordan’s own Wings Scholars program, both with deep Philadelphia ties

“We are going to further unite the energy of Philadelphia with MJ’s greatness,” said Jeremy Bolds, GM, North America at Jordan Brand. “We are looking to serve a community that’s rich in culture and also drives one of the largest basketball-demand markets in the U.S. We will meet and exceed their needs, not only with an incredible Jordan Brand retail experience but also by expanding out with programming—elevating local athletes, artists, creators and fans.”

Opening Day Festivities

The store opens to the public October 10 at 10 a.m., with a community block party kicking off at 4 p.m. Expect exclusive surprises, appearances, and a celebration worthy of one of basketball’s most storied cities. Eagles star and Jordan Brand athlete Jalen Hurts summed up the city’s excitement:
“It is amazing that Jordan Brand chose Philadelphia for its first World of Flight store in the U.S. — it is a city that has shown me so much love and deserves the best. Jordan Brand has done so much work supporting youth and organizations in the Philadelphia community over the last 10 years, and now World of Flight is going to be a special experience for everybody that comes through.”

Jordan Brand’s World of Flight Philadelphia will serve as a model for future U.S. stores, uniting MJ’s heritage and city pride in one revolutionary space.
