The new Nike N7 campaign blends Indigenous values and earth-inspired design and a commitment to empowering Native athletes and youth.

Embracing Nature and Heritage

Nike’s latest N7 collection timed to Native American Heritage Month offers a fresh take on running and lifestyle apparel celebrating ancestral connections.

Designed by Lauren Thomas of the Mi’kmaq First Nations Tribe, the collection draws inspiration from the natural landscapes that have always been integral to Indigenous cultures.

Each of the seven pieces, including the Nike Pegasus 41 and V5 RNR silhouettes, is awash in earth tones like sage and anthracite and features graphics inspired by mixed media and photography, reflecting the beauty and textures found in nature.

Storytelling and Representation

The campaign centers on values of reciprocity, renewal, and kinship. Actress Amber Midthunder (Fort Peck Sioux Tribe), and Native runners Kutoven Stevens (Yerington Paiute Tribe) and Lenise Omeasoo join as the faces of the initiative sharing what the land, heritage, and N7 mission mean to them.

“I tend to be drawn to earth tones and darker colors, which help me feel grounded, and I love that each silhouette is inspired by the land…Every piece comes from a really special place,” shared Amber Midthunder.

For Kutoven Stevens, the collaboration is a dream realized, Kutoven Stevens stated: “Being featured in this campaign…gives me even more pride to represent N7 and show young Native athletes what’s possible through sport.”

Community Investment

Coinciding with the collection’s release, Nike has opened the latest round of grant applications for the N7 Fund, a program supporting grassroots sports for Native American and Indigenous youth.

Since 2022, Nike has awarded $625,000 in annual grants through N7, administered by CAF America, with total N7 and related contributions adding up to $13.4 million for more than 300 organizations since 2009.

Past grant recipients include Wings of America, The Destiny Program and the Notah Begay III Foundation, among others.

Nonprofits can apply for the current N7 grants through January 16, 2026.

Nike’s N7 campaign once again underscores the role of sport in strengthening communities, affirming Native identity, and connecting every step, run, and aspiration to the land itself.
