Built in 1928, the ground, home to generations of Nerazzurri (“the black and blues”), has hosted Atalanta fans for nearly a century. Under the vision and stewardship of President Antonio Percassi, Co-Chairman Stephen Pagliuca (of Bain Capital), and CEO Luca Percassi, the club achieved full stadium ownership in 2017, transforming it into a global symbol of ambition, independence, and community roots.

Stephen Pagliuca, Co-owner & Co-Chairman, said:

“We are excited about our partnership with New Balance as we share the common values of hard work, integrity, and a deep commitment to our community. We look forward to continued success on and off the pitch,”

Chris Davis, Brand President & Chief Marketing Officer of New Balance, added:

“This stadium has always belonged to the Bergamo community—their passion, loyalty, and spirit are what make it sacred ground. As we enter this new chapter with the New Balance Arena, this moment is a reflection of our enduring commitment to the club, its legacy, and the generations of supporters who have filled these stands and carried its history forward. We’re honored to stand alongside Atalanta BC and its devoted fanbase as part of this journey.”

Youth Development: New Balance Academy—Dedicated a Mino Favini

The partnership also delivers deeper roots into the future: New Balance has secured exclusive naming rights to Atalanta BC’s acclaimed youth academy, now the New Balance Academy – Dedicata a Mino Favini. This new chapter honors the memory of Mino Favini, a legendary scout, mentor, and talent developer who shaped players like Riccardo Montolivo and Gianluca Zambrotta.

The youth academy is a testament to both Atalanta’s and New Balance’s commitment to investing in community advancement, player development, and building a lasting legacy on and off the pitch.

Historic Stadium, Modern Facilities

The New Balance Arena combines state-of-the-art amenities with the intimate, energetic atmosphere for which Bergamo is renowned. Its renovation since 2017 reflects Atalanta’s rise, now a Champions League staple and Europa League winner. Renaming the stadium in partnership with New Balance supports club ambitions for deeper international resonance and a sustainable business model.

Following in the footsteps of top stadia like Juventus’ Allianz Stadium, Udinese’s Bluenergy Stadium, and Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, the New Balance Arena is set to reinforce Bergamo as a must-visit icon for European football.

Shared Values and Broader Impact

This is the first time New Balance, long the kit supplier for FC Porto, Lille OSC, Bayer Leverkusen, and now Atalanta, has committed its name to a global pro-sports stadium, underscoring a deep alignment on values: craftsmanship, family, and community. Both organizations remain family-owned. The new deal cements a collaboration that goes beyond sponsorship, including investment in the next generation of athletes, localized community programs, and supporting Atlanta’s ambitions to be a global football force.

Looking Forward

Atalanta’s first Champions League match under the new stadium name, versus Club Brugge, is set to kick off a new era of energy and fan engagement at the New Balance Arena. The club continues to rise in stature, having recently added a Europa League title to its historic Coppa Italia from 1963.
